Procedures and requirements for accessing coroner records are governed by Wyoming Statute 7-4-105 and other laws.  The specific statutes are available available by opening  WYStatutes2017

The Fremont County Coroner’s Office has various information available upon request. This can include case/investigation information, data summaries, mortality statistics, historical data, and public information. Certain information is considered confidential, and can only be obtained by specific individuals, as is defined in W.S. 7-4-105.

Please select the appropriate form from the following options:

Family Request : If you are an Authorized Family Member - A surviving spouse, surviving parent, an adult child, personal representative, legal representative, or a legal guardian
 

Public Docket: If you are a family member NOT listed above, or any other member of the public

 

Agency Request: If you are a member of Law Enforcement or an Other Authorized Agency specified in W.S. 7-4-105

 

Records Request – Other: If you are requesting General Data Summaries

 

Ancestral Death Request: If you are Requesting Genealogy/Ancestral Data

 

Please complete the appropriate form and submit request and ID via Email, Fax, Mail, or In Person, and we will fulfill the request as soon as possible. Please be aware that each specific case requires a separate request form, and requests which are incorrectly filled out will not be fulfilled.

Also, per W.S. 7-4-105 (m) “A person who knowingly or purposely uses the information in a manner other than the specified purpose for which it was released or violates a court order issued under subsection (g) of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), or both.”
